広く深く、現代の打楽器音楽に取り組み続ける〈上野信一＆フォニックス・レフレクション〉が、2023年に80歳を迎えた日本現代作曲界の重鎮・池辺晋一郎、初の打楽器作品集CDをリリース。2023年現在全15曲を数える池辺氏の打楽器作品のうち7曲が、作曲家本人も太鼓判を押す圧倒的演奏で収録された。作曲年は1978年から2022年にわたり、いずれも立て板に水のごとき自然でのびやかでウイットに富んだ作風は共通しつつも、時代による変遷も味わうことができる。収録作品の大半が世界初録音！

上野信一＆フォニックス・レフレクション
マルチ・パーカッショニスト上野信一が、国内外で活躍するソリストたちと1988年に結成したパーカッション・グループ。毎年コンサートを行い、安倍圭子、J.N.ジヴコヴィッチ、E.セジョルネ、S.レナール、ルードヴィッヒ・アルベルト等の世界的な演奏家とも共演。「西村朗　パーカッションの宇宙」「安倍圭子　マリンバの世界」「フォニックス・マリンバ・オーケストラ」「打楽器アンサンブルの潮流」等、様々な企画が国際的に注目を集め、2014年クロアチア、2015年ルーマニア、2019年中国(上海IPEA)での国際打楽器フェスティバルにて招待演奏。現在までに14枚のCDをリリース。2013年には西村朗による打楽器オーケストラとヴォイスのための室内楽オペラ「バガヴァッド・ギーター」を世界初演し、NHK BSプレミアムで3度放映された。最近では「邦人作曲家による現代打楽展」(2018) が高く評価され、ISCM（国際作曲家協議会）主催のVirtual Collaborative Seriesに福士則夫「青海波」、安良岡章夫「１０スティックス」の演奏がISCMウェブサイトで動画配信されている。全曲邦人作曲家委嘱作品によるコンサート「マリンバ・オーケストラVII」(2020)は、現代曲の演奏に定評ある上野&フォニックスの持ち味を生かし、好評を得た。CD情報、動画はウェブサイトで公開されている。

上野信一
マルチ・パーカッショニスト。元仏国立ストラスブール・フィルハーモニー打楽器奏者、仏国立トゥールーズ・キャピトル管弦楽団首席打楽器・ティンパニ奏者。パリ国際現代音楽コンクール・打楽器部門特別賞、マリア・カナルス・バルセロナ国際音楽コンクール・ソロ打楽器部門第３位など受賞歴多数。米国、フランス、クロアチア、ルーマニア、中国、韓国などの国際フェスティバルにて招聘演奏。アンドレ・ジョリヴェ、P.クレストン、ウィリアム・クラフト、N.T.ダオの協奏曲を国内外のオーケストラと共演。ソロとして５枚およびグループとして 14枚のCDをリリース（うち『レコード芸術』特選盤4枚）。『ヴィブラ＝エルーファ』は『レコード・アカデミー賞現代音楽部門賞』ノミネート。『上野信一 ティンパニ作品集Vol.1 ソロ』に続き『上野信一 ティンパニ作品集Vol.２ コンチェルト』も高評価を得た。アンサンブル・ムジカ・ヴィヴァンテ、上野信一＆フォニックス・レフレクション主宰／指揮／音楽監督。日本打楽器協会常務理事、ヤマハ・アーティスト。


池辺晋一郎
1943年水戸生。71年東京芸術大学大学院修了。池内友次郎、矢代秋雄、三善晃氏に師事。66年日本音楽コンクール第１位。以後音楽之友社賞、尾高賞３度、ザルツブルクTVオペラ祭優秀賞、イタリア放送協会賞３度、国際エミー賞、毎日映画コンクール音楽賞３度、日本アカデミー賞優秀音楽賞９度、放送文化賞、JXTG音楽賞、紫綬褒章、文化功労者、旭日中綬章。交響曲11曲、ピアノ協奏曲３曲、チェロ協奏曲、オペラ「死神」「鹿鳴館」「高野聖」ほか、管弦楽曲、室内楽曲、合唱曲他。映画「影武者」「楢山節考」「うなぎ」「スパイ・ゾルゲ」「剱岳 点の記」他。TV「独眼竜政宗」「元禄繚乱」他。演劇音楽約500本。著書「空を見てますか…１～14」「モーツァルトの音符たち」他。09年３月まで13年間NHKTV「N響アワー」、96年～21年3月NHKFM「N響ザ・レジェンド」出演。東京音大名誉教授。東京オペラシティ、せたがや文化財団音楽事業部、石川県立音楽堂、姫路市文化国際交流財団の監督。

Shiniti Uéno
Former Strasbourg Philharmonic Percussionist, French National Toulouse Capitole Orchestra, Principal Percussion Timpanist. He has received numerous awards, including Paris International Contemporary Music Competition and the Maria Canals International Competition. As a soloist, he has performed concertos by A.Jolivet, P.Creston, W.Kraft and N.T.Dao with orchestras in Japan and abroad. Since his debut, he has performed 40 recitals in Japan and around the world. Over 100 pieces premiered by him. Currently, 5 Solo CDs have been released, and their quality has been highly evaluated. He also devotes himself to the development of musicians, and has produced 9 winners of international percussion competitions. As a judge, he has been invited to international competitions held in various parts of the world (France, Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria, China, South Korea), holds master classes, and is committed to the promotion and development of percussion music.

Shiniti Uéno & PHONIX Réflexion
Founded in 1988 by Uéno and young solo percussionists. Its recent activities include concerts with such guests as Keiko Abe and N. J. Zivkovic, E.Sejourné, L.Albert. Participation in the International Percussion Festivals in Croatia (2013) , Romania (2014), and Shanghai (2019) . 14 CDs have been released, They premiered Akira Nishimura’s “Bhagavad Gita” (Suntory Hall, Tokyo, 2013), the TV-opera version of which was recorded and broadcasted by NHK-BS in 2015.

Shin-ichiro Ikebe
Born in 1943, Mito native Shin-ichiro Ikebe completed graduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1971. He studied with Tomojiro Ikenouchi, Akio Yashiro and Akira Miyoshi. In 1966 he won first prize in the Music Competition of Japan, and since then has won the Ongaku-no-tomo-sha Prize, the Otaka Prize (three times), Prize of the City for excellence in the TV-Opera Fest in Salzburg, the RAI Prize (three times), an International Emmy Award, the Mainichi Film Music Prize (three times), the Music prize for highest excellence in the Japanese Academy Award (nine times), the NHK Broadcasting Culture Prize, the JXTG Music Prize, the Medal with Purple Ribbon, he has been honored as the Person of Cultural Merit and is a recipient of the Order of the Rising Sun. He has composed a vast number of works, including eleven symphonies, three piano concertos, a cello concerto, a number of operas (The Death Goddess, Rokumeikan, Koya-hijiri et al), in addition to orchestral, chamber and choral pieces, etc. He has written the music for a number of films, including Kagemusha, The Ballad of Narayama, The Eel, Spy Sorge, Mt. Tsurugidake et al, for a number of TV dramas, including Dokuganryū Masamune, Chūshingura et al, as well as the music for approximately 500 stage works. He has also written a number of books, including a fourteen volume series entitled Can You See the Sky, and Mozart’s Notes. He appeared in the NHK TV program N-Kyo Hour for thirteen years from March 2009, and the radio program N-Kyo The Legend from 1996 to 2021. At present he is an honorary professor at the Tokyo College of Music, and the director of Tokyo Opera City, Setagaya Arts Foundation Music Project Department, Ishikawa Ongakudo and Himeji City Cultural and International Exchange Foundation.
