70年代初頭より打楽器を用いた作品を数多く発表し、日本の現代打楽器音楽シーンを牽引してきた作曲家・福士則夫。2000年以降の近作の世界初録音4曲を含む、ソロ〜アンサンブル作品全9曲を集めた最新録音が「上野信一＆フォニックス・レフレクション」の手によって実現した。既成概念に囚われない新たな響きをもとめ、楽器のみならず声や音の鳴る玩具・道具をも取り入れて多様に拡張されてきた音の世界。上野信一は作曲家が楽譜に込めたイメージを真摯に読み解き、瑞々しい響きとしてリアライズしている。独奏作品ではソリストの個性も聴きどころ。打楽器音楽の広大な地平を旅する2枚組アルバム！

上野信一＆フォニックス・レフレクション
マルチ・パーカッショニスト上野信一が、国内外で活躍するソリストたちと1988年に結成したパーカッション・グループ。毎年コンサートを行い、安倍圭子、J.N.ジヴコヴィッチ、E.セジョルネ、S.レナール等の世界的な演奏家とも共演。「西村朗　パーカッションの宇宙」「安倍圭子　マリンバの世界」「フォニックス・マリンバ・オーケストラ」「打楽器アンサンブルの潮流」など、様々な企画が国際的に注目を集め2014年クロアチア、2015年ルーマニア、2019年中国（上海IPEA）での国際打楽器フェスティバルにて招待演奏。グループとして現在までに11枚のCDをリリース。2013年には西村朗による打楽器オーケストラとヴォイスのための室内楽オペラ「バガヴァッド・ギーター」を世界初演し、NHK BSプレミアムで3度放映された。福士則夫「青海波」、安良岡章夫「10 スティックス」の演奏が、ISCM（国際作曲家協議会）主催のVirtual Collaborative SeriesとしてISCMウェブサイトで動画配信された。CD情報ならびに動画はウェブサイト、YouTubeで公開されている。

Shiniti Uéno & PHONIX Réflexion




Shiniti Uéno
Shiniti Uéno, a multi-percussionist and founder and leader of Shiniti Uéno & PHONIX Refléxion, graduated from Kunitachi College of Music and continued his studies at the Strasbourg National Conservatory with Jean Batique, Sylvio Gualda and Jean-Pierre Drouet. His awards include first prize at the “Concours Interregional des Conservatoires Nationaux de Region de France,” a special award at the “Concours International pour Interpretation de la Musique Contemporaine pour Percussion,” and third prize at the “Concours International d’Execution Musicale Maria Canals, Discipline Percussion Solo.” Uéno was a percussionist for Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg and principal percussionist and timpanist for Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse. Also active as a soloist, he has presented world and Japanese premieres of more than eighty works by composers such as N.T. Dao, Maki Ishii, William Kraft, Isao Matsushita, Akira Nishimura, Kaija Saariaho, Yuji Takahashi, and Iannis Xenakis. Also notable is his recent duo performances with such artists as Keiko Abe, Yuji Takahashi, Yumi Nara, and Yusuke Satoh. He has released numerous solo and ensemble CDs. Currently living in Tokyo, he is one of the YAMAHA ARTISTs.

Shiniti Uéno & PHONIX Réflexion
Shiniti Uéno & PHONIX Refléxion was founded in 1988 by Uéno and young solo percussionists. Its recent activities include concerts with such guests as Keiko Abe and Nevojsa Jovan Zivkovic, participation in the International Percussion Festivals in Croatia (2013) and Romania (2014), as well as CDs such as “Wish,” Kecak”, “Yantra, “Souls of Percussion: Works of Nnevojsa Jovan Zivkovic” (all by Musica Vivante). It world-premiered Akira Nishimura’s “Bhagavad Gita” (Suntory Hall, Tokyo, 2013), the TV-opera version of which was recorded and broadcasted by NHK-BS in 2015. Marimba Orchestra, its new formation, has been presenting new and colorful sounds of percussion ensemble featuring keyboard instruments, namely marimba and vibraphone.

Norio Fukushi
Norio Fukushi was born in Tokyo in 1945. In 1969, after completing his graduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts, he formed the composition group “Shiranami” with four others and began his professional composing career. In 1972, he won the Excellence Award at the Agency for Cultural Affairs Art Festival, and the following year he studied in France as a French government-sponsored exchange student. Upon returning to Japan, he participated in the formation of the ensemble “Vant d'Orient” with other musicians and composers in 1977, which won the first Kenzo Nakajima Music Award as a group in 1983. In 1992, he held a solo exhibition of his chamber music works at the Kusatsu Summer International Music Academy & Festival. He also held solo exhibitions at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan in 2004 and 2019. In 2003, his work "Realm for Chamber Orchestra III" won the 3rd Keizo Saji Award. In 2008, he was invited as a resident composer by the Civitella Ranieri Foundation and stayed in Italy. In 2011, he was invited by Music from Japan (MFJ) and presented new works in New York and Washington, D.C. His major works are performed not only in Europe but also in North America, Canada, and Asia. He has served as a judge for the Japan Music Competition, chairperson of Japan Society for Contemporary Music, and vice chairperson of Japan Federation of Authors and composers. His works have been released on CDs by Camerata Tokyo and Fontec, and published by ONGAKU NO TOMO SHA and ZEN-ON MUSIC, among others.
