フランスが誇るヴァイオリニスト、ジェラール・プーレと川島余里のデュオによるベートーヴェンのヴァイオリン・ソナタ集第2作（第１作はヴァイオリン・ソナタ第5〜7番）。ベートーヴェンの音楽はこうあるべきといった固定観念にとらわれることなく、あくまでも洗練された音楽が上品に繰り広げられる。その独特の表情は、フランス的エスプリに満ちていると言ってよいだろう。

ジェラール・プーレ（ヴァイオリン）
フランスが誇る、世界的ヴァイオリニストにして、偉大な教育者。
　ジェラール・プーレは、指揮者とヴァイオリニストであったガストン・プーレの息子として天才少年期を送る（父親のガストンは、1917年ドビュッシーが「ヴァイオリン・ソナタ」を作曲家自身のピアノで初演の際、共演したヴァイオリニストである）。
11歳でパリ国立高等音楽院に入学、2年後に首席で卒業。18歳でパガニーニ国際コンクール優勝。フランチェスカッティ、メニューイン、ミルシュテイン、とりわけ人生の師と仰ぐヘンリク・シェリング等の巨匠に師事。
　世界各地でソリストとして活躍。多くのオーケストラと共演を重ね、キャリアを世界中に広めた。
　これまでに、パリ管弦楽団、フランス国立管弦楽団、ストラスブール国立管弦楽団、リール、ボルドー、RAI・トリノ オーケストラ、プラハラジオ交響楽団、リェージュ・フィルハーモニック管弦楽団、北京交響楽団、シュツットガルト管弦楽団、読売交響楽団、東京シティ・フィルハーモニック、仙台フィルハーモニック、大阪シンフォニカー等と共演。
77歳を超えた今も「現役」の演奏家としてコンサート活動を行っており、各国の主要な国際コンクール審査員（長）にも招聘されている。
偉大な教育者でもあり、2003年に長年教授を務めたパリ国立高等音楽院を退官後、パリ市立音楽院とエコール・ノルマル音楽院で教鞭を執り、東京藝術大学客員・招聘教授（2005年～2009年）を務めた後、2010年より現在は昭和音楽大学で教授を務める。その他、多数の音楽大学（桐朋・国立・沖縄県芸・愛知県芸・フェリス・作陽・洗足など）にも招かれている。
コンクールの優勝・上位入賞者を多数輩出し、日本ヴァイオリン界のレヴェルアップにも大きく貢献している。
世界中でマスタークラスを行っており、日本では、「京都フランス音楽アカデミー」「いしかわミュージック・アカデミー」「軽井沢国際音楽祭」「北海道アップビート国際音楽セミナー中札内」「河口湖音楽セミナー」「トマム音楽セミナー」「アーツ国際音楽セミナー」等に招聘されている。
1995年フランス芸術文化勲章、1999年フランス文化功労賞を受賞。日本弦楽指導者協会・日本フォーレ協会名誉会員。
　2012年に『チャイコフスキー：ヴァイオリン協奏曲』（レッスンの友社）の校訂譜を出版。また音楽之友社より以下の校訂譜を出版（いずれも川島余里と共著）。

川島余里（ピアノ）
　東京生れ。3歳よりピアノを始め、桐朋学園子供の為の音楽教室に学ぶ。東京藝術大学附属高校及び同大学作曲科卒業、同大学院修了。
　H.ピュイグ=ロジェ氏の指導と影響を受け、演奏家になる志を立て1989年渡仏。パリ国立地方音楽院（現パリ市立音楽院）にてピアノ科とピアノ伴奏科のプルミエ・プリを取得。O.ギャルドン、G.ジョワ（デュティーユ夫人）に師事。
　1987年ピティナ第1回特級２台ピアノ部門優勝。2000年イタリア・トラーニ国際ピアノコンクールファイナリスト。2005年大阪府吹田音楽コンクール作曲部門「ヴァイオリンのための組曲」で優勝。
ソロ・室内楽奏者として幅広いレパートリーを持ち、オーケストラ共演も多数。ラジオフランスFM生放送でも演奏。
　公式伴奏者としても、「ロン・ティボー国際コンクール」「中国国際ヴァイオリンコンクール（青島）」をはじめ、「ラヴェル国際音楽アカデミー」「ニース夏期音楽講習会」「カリアリ音楽アカデミー（イタリア）」等、国際的に活躍。
　パリ国立高等音楽院を始め、パリ市立音楽院、パリ区立音楽院（第1、第10、第16区）、パリ・エコール・ノルマル音楽院等、５校で同時に伴奏者として勤務する等の活動を経て、2005年帰国。
　国内外一流のソリストから伴奏を依頼されており、とりわけヴァイオリンの巨匠ジェラール・プーレに最も信頼されるピアニストとなる。
　東京藝術大学弦楽科及び附属高校で伴奏助手を務めた後、現在は東京藝術大学と昭和音楽大学でソルフェージュの講師を務めており、室内楽や伴奏の指導にもあたっている。

Gérard Poulet, violin
Gérard Poulet started as a child prodigy. His father, the violinist and conductor Gaston Poulet had the privilege of giving the first performance of Debussy’s Sonata in 1917, with the author at the piano. Gérard entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Paris at the age of eleven, and left the following two years with a unanimously awarded first prize. Aged eighteen, he carried off the first prize at the Paganini Competition in Genoa.
As he continued to benefit from the teaching of such masters as Zino Francescatti, Yehudi Menuhin, Nathan Milstein and especially Henryk Szeryng, who considered him his “spiritual heir”, numerous concerts were to follow, and his career developed rapidly worldwide: from Europe to Asia, form America to Africa, where he plays today regularly with the finest orchestras, while he takes part in the most prestigious musical seasons, including those of Radio France, the Musée d’Orsay. No less than an eminent concert player, he is one of greatest pedagogues of our time.
After he taught for 25 years at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris, and the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, Gérard Poulet was a visiting professor at the Tokyo University of the Arts (Tokyo Geidai) from April 2005 to March 2009. Currently, he is professor at the Showa University of Music in Japan.
Besides giving master classes all over the world, he is also a member on the juries of major international competitions. He was decorated with the “Officier des Arts et Lettres” in 1995, and the “Officier National de Mérite” in 1999.



Yori Kawashima, piano
Yori Kawashima grew up in Tokyo where she began to learn the piano at the age of three. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degree at the Tokyo University of the Arts as a Composition Major. While under the instruction of Henriette Puig-Roger, Ms. Kawashima was recommended to study abroad. In 1989, she went to further pursue her studies with Oliver Gardon at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris, where she received the first prize of both piano and accompaniment. Also she studied with Geneviève Joy-Dutilleux.
Ms. Kawashima won first prize in the piano duet category of the PTNA competition in 1987. In 2000, she became a finalist in the Trani International Piano Competition in Italy. She then won first prize in the 2005 Concours of Competition in Suita City, Osaka.
As a chamber musician, Ms. Kawashima has performed with many celebrated musicians in Europe, and collaborated with Gérard Poulet. She has also played with many orchestras and made an appearance on Radio France.
Because of her reputation as an exceptional accompanist, Ms. Kawashima has been invited to several major international competitions and music festivals such as the China International Violin Competition in Quingdao and the Concours Long-Thibaud in Paris.
Ms. Kawashima also taught and accompanied at the Conservatoire Municipal du Centre, 10th and 16th district, Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris, and Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. Ms. Kawashima is currently teaching at the Tokyo University of the Arts and the Showa University of Music in Japan.
